Whats wrong with 8b staedtler mars lumograph pencil?

Everybody had an experience with his pencil? I tried them, almost all staedtler pencils are really soft but when i tried 8B it is soft at first light touch on paper but when i added few more layers its not smooth anymore and seems to rub the paper, looks like its not a graphite
