Is it possible (practical?) for a woman to use men's "shortened" clubs?
I am trying to teach my 23 year old daughter, who is 5'5" and kinda chunky, to play golf. Rather than run out and pay $600 for a set of "ladies clubs", I have a novel idea: I have a very good set of Cleveland Men's TA-5 graphite clubs in the garage (I bought new irons recently). Would it be reasonable to ask a pro shop to literally SAW my men's clubs down to fit her size and install new grips? I would guess they would want maybe $15 per club to do this. Or is this incredibly stupid and a waste of time? What length for roughly each club would I have to reduce it to? Many thanks for THOUGHFUL and PRACTICAL observations!!
