Isn't something being 2 dimensional impossible?

I mean even if I draw something, be it pen, pencil, paint etc, doesn't the ink or graphite or whatever still have a very minute 3rd dimension of depth? And how about TV, I mean yes when you touch it it is 2 dimensional but you can still tell what is in front and what is in back (not including any optical illusions). And does something have to be able sense time to have the fourth dimension or does just the viewer have to have the ability to sense time in life or does the viewer have to be able to sense time with the image?
